Deneesha is Programme Coordinator of the Black and African Solidarity Show (B.A.S.S.). Previously completing an MA in Visual Sociology at Goldsmiths’ University of London, their work explores the social world using visual, sensory, and other experimental approaches, from a future oriented perspective. Deneesha deliberately questions the relationship between art and the ever-changing social world, allowing space to amplify the voices of marginalised communities and bring more inclusion in the arts. Their artistic practice incorporates the essence of looking towards the past to reimagine the future - seeking to centre community voices through a combination of inventive and collaborative research methods, storytelling, re-imagining the archive, whilst bridging together interdisciplinary mediums, such as sound, music, and film within an installation setting.
